Neurostimulation & Neurotherapy

At The Togetherness Project in Melbourne (Hawthorn) and Perth (Fremantle), we specialise in QEEG-informed Neurotherapy — a safe, non-invasive way to help the brain restore balance, flexibility, and calm.

By combining advanced QEEG brain mapping, Neurostimulation, and relational support, we tailor treatment plans that strengthen focus, emotional regulation, and nervous-system stability.

Our work is grounded in neuroscience and informed by compassion. Each session is designed to help the brain learn healthier, more adaptive patterns — supporting recovery from anxiety, depression, trauma, attention difficulties, and other challenges across the lifespan.

What is Neurotherapy?

Neurotherapy, sometimes called neurofeedback, is a form of brain-based training that uses real-time feedback to help the brain self-regulate. Sensors measure electrical activity (brainwaves), and through guided feedback, the brain learns to shift away from overactive or underactive patterns.

Clients often report feeling calmer, clearer, and more focused after several sessions. Over time, these changes support better sleep, attention, and mood stability — fostering a more flexible and resilient nervous system.

QEEG Brain Mapping

We begin with a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) — often referred to as a brain map. This non-invasive assessment records electrical activity across the scalp to reveal areas of imbalance or dysregulation. Patterns of over-arousal, under-arousal, or disconnection can correspond with symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, poor concentration, or low mood.

Your QEEG results guide a personalised Neurotherapy plan, ensuring every protocol is evidence-informed and aligned with your unique neural profile.

Neurostimulation Approaches

At The Togetherness Project, we use a range of safe, research-backed Neurostimulation methods to encourage optimal brain functioning and neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to create new, more adaptive pathways.

1. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)

tDCS delivers a low-intensity, constant electrical current through small electrodes placed on the scalp.

This gentle stimulation modulates the activity of specific brain regions, either increasing or decreasing their excitability.

tDCS has been studied for its benefits in improving attention, learning, mood regulation, and cognitive recovery.

2. Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (tACS)

tACS applies an alternating electrical current to the brain at specific frequencies that correspond with healthy brain rhythms.

By subtly synchronising these rhythms, tACS can help improve focus, sleep quality, mood stability, and overall brain coherence.

3. Transcranial Random Noise Stimulation (tRNS)

tRNS introduces low-level, randomised electrical currents to promote neural flexibility and learning.

Research suggests tRNS can enhance processing speed, working memory, and resilience to cognitive fatigue, especially when used alongside neurofeedback or cognitive training.

4. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (pEMF)

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (pEMF) therapy uses gentle, low-frequency electromagnetic pulses to encourage healthy communication between brain cells.

These pulses promote cellular metabolism, oxygenation, and circulation, supporting the brain’s natural repair and regulation mechanisms.

At The Togetherness Project, pEMF is combined with QEEG-informed Neurotherapy to enhance neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to reorganise and build new pathways.

Clients frequently report feeling a deep sense of calm, clearer thinking, and a reduction in mental fatigue after sessions. Over time, pEMF helps the nervous system achieve greater stability and balance.
